It is normal to have certain amount of stiffness in the soft tissues around the ankle after a cast removal.
When these tight and stiff structures are subjected to stretch as in walking, one may experience pain, which is considered to be normal. This will settle down normally within a week. Prior to walking, do light stretching movements of the ankle and warm up the tissues. Applying hot fomentation will be helpful in making the soft tissues a bit supple.
You will feel comfortable within a week or two. Keep going.
hi,yes it is common issue.as theligaments and muscles ofthat ankle were immobilised for one month.so due to disuse muscies under go temporary atrofy called disuse atrophy.which is common in all such cases. it will be cured with masage of any oil and light exercis------ flexion and extension at ankle joint ( slowly )it will take the same time as it was pop time----
