Removed Uterus And Fallopian Tubes, Bleeding Continuously. Scan Done And Told Part Of The Healing Process. Is That So?
I had my uterus and fallopian tubes removed 4 weeks ago. About 18 days ago I started bleeding. It was very light but it has been continuous. This past Sunday I passed a very large blood clot and bled so heavy I called 911. My surgeon did a scan and stated this was part of the healing process. I m concerned I will continue to bleed due to my cervix and that I will need to have it removed. Is this normal to bleed like this? I had this surgery done to stop my bleeding as I always had my period except for about a week a month. I also had fibroids and Adenomyosis.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. After the removal of uterus and tubes, the persistent bleeding with passage of clot 4 weeks after the surgery is not a normal finding. This can be due to an internal bleeding that needs evaluation. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
