Resting Heart Rate Is 140 Bpm, Should I Be Worried ?

Should I be worried if im a 23yr old woman whos resting heart rate is 140 bpm?
I am a 23 year old female and I am slightly over weight. Sometimes I can feel my heart just beating out of control. It usually goes away within an hour this has been going on for about 3 hours now so I got nervous and calculated my bpm and it is at 140 bpm. Is that normal or should I be worried?

Yeah i would see the doctor for that. Tachycardia (>100) at rest is not normal for any adult. You may have an arrythmia that's going in and out. Usually the doc can do an ECG, and give you a 24 hour (holter) monitor to check if they can pick it up. It's better to have a diagnosis than just let it sit there.
