Rib Pain And Back Pain. X-ray Showed No Fracture. Reason?

Hi.., I slipped over 5 months ago on some silicon gel in a supermarket and flew up in the air landing on my left side rib cage with my full weight.., i hurt my neck and back but my rib pain was the worst, was very intense but an X-ray concluded no fracture and after 3 months it began to feel better... Over the past month however, the pain in my ribs have returned and my back has once again started to hurt... Why would this be? Thankyou

Hi,

Based on the information it seems like it may be due to an costochrondritis an inflammation of rib joints. It will be treated by over the counter pain relievers.

Thanks.
Dr.JAY PATEL.
