Right Side Groin Pain. Sonogram Shows Swollen Lymph Node. History Of Thyroid Cancer. Any Ideas?

I am a 44 yr old woman and i have right side groin pain. I have been exercising for about 8 weeks now. I didn't hear anything pop, it wasn't a sudden pain. It just came on gradually. Now, it hurts when I lift my right leg, I have to use my hands to lift my leg to put my sock on. And let me tell you, it HURTS real BAD when i go to get into the car. My doctor sent me for a sonagram, it showed that my lymph nodes were swollen in my groin. Doc put me on 10days of antibiotics, now i just don't think swollen lymphs nodes could cause that much pain. I am taking advil and vicodine for the pain. Now i will also tell you that I have a history of thyroid cancer, I am a little nervous. What do you think i could be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM.
It is probably infaolmmation of muscles due to excessive exercise or any other infectional disease, even those that may not be clinically manifested. Cancer is the last thing to think of and thyroid cancer rarely metastasis to gorin so I dont see a reason why you should be cocnerned. Wait till antibiotics works and it should pass in 3-4 weeks. Wish you good health. Regards
