Right Thump Twitching. Had Graves Disease Months Back, Will Be Under RAI Treatment If Needed. Is This Side Effect Of Disease?

Hi, I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in December, and right now I am not on any meds because my levels have evened out, plus I was allergic to meds. My next treatment will be RAI if need be. The last few days I've had right thumb twitching. This is something new. Can this be another side effect of the disease? Thanks.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The twitching in the right thumb muscles that you are having could be related to Graves disease or the medicines that you are having. This is likely to subside once the thyroid hormone levels decrease.

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Muscle twitching is well known in hyperthyroidism
As it is controlled / and the twitching is restricted only to the thumb, other causes may have to be considered – electrolytes, for example have to be tested. Discuss with your doctor.

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
