Rising HCG Levels. Yolk Sac Detected On US. What Is Ectopic?
I have had slow rising hcg levels. but no spotting or bleeding, or discomfort. my obgyn isnt very informative and im worried because this is my first pregnancy. she said over the phone it may be an ectpoic pregnancy b ut i had an ultrasound last tuesday at 5w2days. no fetal pole , or yolk sac was detected and it was in my uterus ..what does this all mean? i thought eptopic was when the sac was in the wrong place. can the sac move?
Progressive rise in HCG takes place in pregnancy, molar pregnancy and in ectopic pregnancy.
Ectopic pregnancy means that the gestational sac is present at sites at places other than uterus like fallopian tube.
Ultrasonography reveals the gestational sac with fetus in the uterus.
Absence of gestational sac in the uterus with an increase in HCG levels suggests a molar pregnancy, blighted ovum or ectopic pregnancy.
I hope my answer helps you.
Thanks and take care
