Runny Nose, Sore Throat. Damaged Upper Lip, Front Teeth In An Accident, Taken Medication. Suggestions?

It is Saturday evening, and on Tuesday morning I crashed a bike almost taking off my upper lip, chipping my front tooth, and scraping my chin and nose. I went to the urgent care where they couldn't do much but give pain medication. I've noticed a really runny nose and sore throat since then. Is this something I should worry about?

hi there, your meeting with the accident and the cold that you are suffering from is just a coincidence and not connected to each other. You may visit the ER and get a throat swab taken to rule out bacterial infection but the symptoms are suggestive of a viral cold and you could take some anti-histaminics and anti-inflammatory for symptomatic cure. You do not need to get unduly worried about it ,as usually viral infections are self limiting and will subside in5-7 days. Take care,
