Sciatica, Lower Back Pain, Burning, Stinging, Neckpain, Shoulder Pain Resulting From Accident. Excruciating Pain After Exrecising. What Could Be Wrong?

I have had sciatica, lower back pain, burning, stinging for many years resulting from a car accident in 2004. My tailbone was injured, but nothing was broken. this also includes neck and shoulder pain. I recently was able to see a doctor, who referred me to physical therapy. I know I have severe problem and too many to work on in one appointment. However, he did notice that my left knee was significantly larger than my right knee. the left leg is more sciatic problem. the doctor had me do some home exercise, soft slight back bend motion, and I am now on fire as I call it. too much pain. I stopped and will call him in the morning. I did notice that the swelling is more and is not normal? I don t know what is going on, so much pain for such a long time. Thank you for your time Connie

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The multiple pains in the back and shoulders can be due to a generalized muscle stiffness due to electrolyte or hormonal imbalance or due to fibromyalgia. A direct examination and blood tests will help in confirmation.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
