Sever Foot Pain, Barely Walk, Stand. Have Edema In Calf Area. How To Get Relief?

I just suddenly got sever foot pain in both feet it goes from ball under the big toe on bottom of foot to the bottom of the outer area on both feet it comes fast and sharp and I can barely walk it when trying to stand it is so sharp and shooting. I am very nervous as for I have high blood pressure (not on meds now Dr. trying to find the right one) Also I have been experiencing edema in the calf area lately was on diuretics but they do not work I drink a lot of water everyday normally. Please any advice as for my DR. is dragging his feet and I don't feel he is taking this seriously / my Dad passed from a heart attack 71yrs old so did both his parents / my brother passed from the same at 58.

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us
The symptoms you have described are more likely to be symptoms of muscles strain. Any strained muscle when stretched gives severe pain.

To get relief- Give adequate rest to foot and leg and avoid any movement that causes pain, elevate your limb to reduce the swelling, apply moist heat to relax the muscles, local application of muscle relaxant gel will be helpful to relive the spasm associated, take analgesic medications as needed.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
