General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely due to sciatic nerve compression.Usually it is caused by herniated disc, spondylolisthesis or inflammation. A X ray of lumbosacral spine followed by an MRI of that if necessary will be done to rule out that.Analgesics like NSAIDs, opioids and muscle relaxants are given and physiotherapy is also recommended for treatment. If all these dont help then can go for surgical decompression of nerve. Let me know if you have any further query
