Hi I am 51 years old in peri menopause coming of the pill in March 2012 I presented about 6 weeks ago with gushing bleeding after having my period 80% of the time 3 months after stopping the pill. Had an ultrasound finding huge fibroids ovarian cyst and other cysts non cancerous on cervix. Gynaecologist inserted Marina on 6th May and after 2/3 days had light spotting with next to nothing at night for 2 weeks now bleeding heavily again for almost a week while at the same time weening off primolut N taking last one on thurs after almost 5 weeks of taking them to reduce/stop bleeding. Now when I pass urine I also pass considerable bood but not every time but getting worse with mild cramping and light headed ness
Hello, If your fibroids are multiple and distort the cavity,then you may need to have a hysterectomy after all. Mirena usually works well with DUB and small fibroids. Its too early to declare failure of Mirena since it hasnt been long inserted. But of the size of the uterus is too big,then Mirena has a chance of coming out spontaneously. You may need added progesterone if the bleeding isnt stopped.
