Severe Diarrhea, Gas, Cramps In Abdomen, Bleeding. Worry'?

I had severe diarrhea last night. Very painful cramping combined with 4-5 BM s. I have been very gassy all day, stomach cramps that feel like I could have diarrhea again. Now when I go to the bathroom all that passes is gas and blood . I just took pepto bismol about an hour ago. I am very concerned by the amount of blood in the bowl.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.Ratnakar Kini and I am pleased to assist you.

Since the symptoms are present only from last night, the most likely cause is infection.
A stool test may be done to confirm it.
Take probiotics, yogurt and zinc supplements for faster relief.

I hope that answers your question.
Regards,
Dr.Ratnakar Kini
