Severe Throbbing Pain On Calf And Foot. No Relief With Medications. How To Relieve Pain?
hello I have this severe throbbing pain in my right calf and foot , nothing is relieving it. It hurts when I walk and rest and it kept me up all night and morning cause the pain was so bad. I have not been exercising or anything when it happened it happened the day before yesterday but was a slight pain but worsened yesterday evening. Just wanted to know should I be worried since it was sudden and not brought on my any type of activity?
Hi Rob,
A more detailed description about yourself and your pain would have been helpful to comment.
Throbbing pain in the calf and foot, which is worsening should be a concern and you should get an evaluation done by your orthopedic surgeon. It may be due to nerve root compression in your low back, mostly caused by a prolapsed disc in the lumbar spine. It may also be due to a local cause in your calf like a blood clot in calf veins. or it may just be a muscle cramp. Treatment depends on the cause of the pain.
Good luck and get well soon.
