Shall I Take Aspirin And B Blocker?

Hi Im 42 years old male.married,90kg diagnosed with hypertension 6years ago and have been taken CoDiovan for that .My BP is always on the 140s systolic and between 85 to 95 diastolic.No other meds apart from that. went to my GP yesterday and added aspirin and betablocker, and advised me to go to the gym,my echo was normal. Triglycerides slightly elevated,HDH and LDL wothin normal.I am hesitant to start the aspirin and b blocker,Please advise

Thanks for posting your query. I understand your concerns.
As you are already on codivon which is a combination of two drugs like valsertan and hydrochlotothiazide, no need to add on one more drug like beta blockers. Your blood pressure is slightly borderline high. You need to regular exercise and cut down the sodium intake.


These measures will help to decrease yourbp within normal range.

But there is no harm in taking aspirin . It's a very good anti platelet drug. You start taking the tablet after food.
