Shared Cigarette With Male With Visible Herpes Scab. Have Jaw Pain. Premature Symptoms Of Herpes?

Hi, I recently shared a cigerette with a male who had a visble herpes scab, although i was not the first to have it off him, I was was the third person to briefly share his cigerette. It has been five days now and I have a dull ache in my jaw, could this be premature symptoms and what is the chance of me actually having the virus?

Hi there. The chance for aquiring herpes virus from a shared cigarette with a 'male' does not change significantly from sharing one with a 'female'! Also since the scab was present, it leads me to believe the vesicles had dried & the infection load was thus at its minimal. It is highly unlikely that you will have contacted the same. The dull ache in your jaw is 99.9% unrelated. If you want to be crystal clear, wait for a week to elapse & check your blood for IgG Herpes 1& 2...this will tell you for sure if htere has been a 'recent' herpes infection that you may have contracted! Cheers & Good luck!
