Sharp Pain Below The Ribs. Diagnosed With PE In The Past. Need To Go To Emergency?

Hi....im experiencing sharp, cramping like pain on my lower left side, under my ribs every time I take a deep breath and its scaring me because I was diagnosed with a PE last year. I m wondering if I may be suffering with another one. The pain is not so severe to the point I need to rush to the ER so was just wondering what you recommend I do?

Hi Monicasteen,
Thanks for writing your query.

Pain in left lower side of chest can be due to different causes.
You should have following investigations :-
1. Complete Blood Count(CBC).
2. Absolute Eosinophil Count
3. Chest X-Ray PA view.
4. ECG.

You can take antacid like Omeprazole 20 mg along with Domperidone 10 mg.

Follow some precautions like :-
1. Avoid spicy/oily foods.
2. Donot miss a meal.
3. Drink lots of pure water atleast 8-10 glasses in a day.

You should also get yourself clinically examined.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
