Sharp Pain In Chest Due To Fall, Bruised Ribs, Difficulty In Breathing And Talking. On Painkillers. Is This Serious?

I fell and landed on my right side on Tuesday night. My husband had to call an ambulance as I thought I was having a heart attack. I couldn't move or get out of bed due to the pain. They said I had bruised ribs. I went to my gp yesterday he checked he said nothing broken gave me painkillers and said I should start and feel better. If not go back tomorrow. I am still very sore and need to take painkillers regular. The pain is sharp and makes it hard to breath or talk. Not sure if to go back or just wait

Hello,welcome to HCM,
you've had quite a fall
1.from your history it suggests that you may have some hairline fractures in the ribs
2. an x ray chest (AP and lateral view) should help.
3.a binding wrap to the chest will also give some support and lower pain.
4. oral calcium supplements+serratiopeptidase will help in healing .continue with painkiller as well.
Hope you get a guideline to go by.
