Sharp Pain In Upper Rib Cage, Rash On Upper Right Back. Underlying Cause?
Hello there. This happens to my friend. So he complains he is experiencing pain on his upper rib cage. Like very sharp pain. And he also said he has rash on his upper right back. He also complains that the pain state to migrate to his right arm. the location is close to the bicep. So just wonder whhat could be the cause for both symptoms to occurs.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. I would come up with these possibilities for this type of acute pain on the right rib cage, these includes. 1 Consolidation or right lung , diagnosis can be confirmed by X RAY chest . As you are complaining that pain is also in right arm so chance of consolidation may be. 2 Herpes Zoster , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by a physician/dermatologist. 3 Hepatomegaly least possible reason as pain may be a radiating pain. Diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of liver. In my opinion consult a dermatologist and get his opinion. Good luck. Dr. HET
