Sharp Stomach Pain, Vomiting, Unable To Stand Up, Pain On Right Lower Side. Causes?
Hi , My boyfriend is 17 years old . at this moment he s having sharp stomoch pain , it started this morning and it was mild , it began at the upper part of the stomoch and is slowly moving down , about an hour ago he vomitied .. the pain is really sharp although it varies , in one point he said its so sharp that he couldnt even stand up .. the pain is on the right lower side now but its not really getting worse after putting pressure on it .. what could it be ?
Such symptoms are very characteristic for urinary tract stones which are moving downward the ureter. It begins suddenly, the pain radiates from the one side back to the lower abdomen and groin. It can be associated with nausea, vomiting, pain during urinating, frequent urinating, blood in urine. It is advisable to go to ER and have muscles relaxants ordered. Abdominal ultrasound, urine tests and blood work is advisable. In some cases urine blockage can result with renal failure and leads to its damage.
Such symptoms can be also caused by gall stones and acute pancreatitis. That is why also liver tests and pancreas tests should be performed.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
