Should Benadryl Not Be Taken While On Seroquel, Ativan And Morphine To Avoid Drug Interactions?

I have a friend who has insomnia. The dr. currently has her on Seroquel, Ativan and morphine ( chronic pain). She still only sleeps about an hour at a time. She says that the dr. told her she can t take Benadryl because her metabolism is slow and all the drugs may become effective at the same time. Is that possible?

Hello,

Yes, the doctor has told the right thing. All drugs may become active at the same time.

Ask her to increase dose of Ativan drug and avoid tea coffee in evening. Also, avoid heavy meal at night.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
