Should Epidural Injection For Lower Back Pain Be Taken Ever Week?

My sister have some lower back pain and her family doctor recommends her a pain specialist. He suggest epidural. The question is he scheduled it back-to-back weeks, three weeks in a row, is this common? The doctor did not even check for feedback after each procedure to see if the medications help any bit. Please let me know you opinion. Thank you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient it is very uncommon to give three injections every weekly. Usually a single shot is given and Pt is reassessed after a week. Most patients get relief after single injection. If a patient doesn't get benefit after single injection then it can be repeated after 3 weeks.
