Should Galantamine Intake Me Avoided When Diagnosed With Alzheimer S Disease?
My husband has been diagnosed with Alzheimer s Disease. He has tried the gamut of medications used to slow the progression without any results. Donepezil, Aricept, Revastigmine, Namesta, Modafinal, etc. Sorry for any misspelled words. I am wondering if we shouldn t try Galantamine?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Galantamine is a medication used to treat mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease and is not contraindicated in individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer's. However, as with any medication, it is important to discuss it with a healthcare provider before taking it. They can assess the potential benefits and risks and determine if it's appropriate for your husband's specific case.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
