In the past month, I have had two coughing sessions that have made me spit up blood. Both times, it felt as if there was a rattling in my lungs; when I coughed up the blood, the rattling disappeared and I continued with life as normal. Each time, I have possible expelled enough bright red bloody mucus to fill the bottom of a drinking glass...maybe less. Currently, I'm lsuffering from a very slight fever and headache...I would wonder if I had pneumonia but, since this occured both today and almost 4 weeks ago, I would have to rule that out. I'm in my early 20s, don't smoke, and don't drink. Is this something I should be very concerned about, or should I not be too worried unless it happens again?
