Should I Concern About A Sharp Pain In The Knee Whenever A Pressure Is Applied On It?

I have been kneeling on a hard floor occasionally recently. Now I am having shooting pain to the outside of my knee, if I kneel on it at all, even on carpet. If I push softly from the top of my kneecap and go straight down, I'll hit the spot and it sends a shooting sharp pain straight out to the side. ? Nerve? or do I need to go to the doctor? It does not bother me at all at any other time.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain that you have is likely to be due to an inflammation of the bursa in the area- bursitis. A nerve involvement is not likely. Taking rest and mild pain killers and using an elastic knee brace will help.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
