Should I Consider Changing The Arthritis Medicine (osteo And Rheumatoid), Pms-sulfasalazine, As I Have No Relief?

Have osteo & rheumatoid arthritis.. Have been on pms-sulfasalazine and have been told I need to change medications. My finger joints are swollen and painful most of the time. Had problems with methotrexate injections so.. Unfortunately I have to wait for my appointment with the specialist until March... Could you please give me some idea of what other drugs I m going to be looking at and also side affects. thank you.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The medicines that you are taking are disease modifying drugs and these need a careful dose monitoring after the clinical assessment of the symptoms. Do consult a rheumatologist for the same.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
