Should I Consult A GP Or A Physio For The Pain In The Sprained Leg?

I have a painful left ankle. I have sprained it some 15yrs ago and now it seems to ache more often. I have always been advised to rest it. I am an office worker so do not walk much and no reason for it to hurt. I sometime feel the ankle may not be sitting properly. Who would I be best to see a Gp or Phisio or a speciallist

Thank you for your question!

There are many causes for pain in the ankle joint. Sprain in the joint 15 years back is not related to your pain.

You did not indicate your age in the query. If your age is above 50 years, the pain may be related to Osteoarthritis. It is degenerative joint disease occurs in elder people.

Try acetaminophen tablets for 5 days. If pain persists, radiographic examination (X-ray) may be required to know the cause. So please consult general physician or orthopedician.

Daily exercises and weight loss measures will help you to improve your condition.
