Should I Follow The Hospital Prescription Or The Doctor S Since The Hospital Has Reduced The Prednisone Dosage Given For Appetite?
Hi. I take of a 8 year old gentleman. Recently his Dr. prescribed Prednizone to help increase his appetite, because he was barely eating. Now his appe3tite is sooo much better. Also he was just in the hospital, they in turn put a limit on the same med. 2 tablets 2 times a day for 2 days, then 1.5 for the same 2 days 2ties etc. until he weaned down til they were all gone. My question is do I follow the hosp. recommendations or do I follow his Dr. orders?

Giving prednisolone to a child only for increasing appetite is not advisable and the dose should be tapered as soon as possible as there are other bad side effects of steroid are there.
So follow the instructions given by hospital doctors.
