Should I Go For Physiotherapy After Having Torn My Hamstring?
hello, im 24 years old girl, i tore my hamstring 2 times, one 3 years ago and the other one before 7 months, i did physiotherapy sessions (ultrasound, stretching and strenghtining) and now after 7 months i still have a serious pain when i try to run sprint and stretching, i did MRI scan last week and the result was that there s a scar tissue in the biceps femorus.. since i m a professional badminton player and my sport and trainings demands very high level of fitness and flexibility i wana ask you is there any way to remove this scar tissue? what you advice please? thank you
You must look for a sports medicine - hip preservation surgeon. Stiff scars around the hamstrings can be disabling. There are some types of surgeries that can be performed to improve your quality of life. But you must check it out with a doc with a couple of studies in hand, such as an MRI.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Gonzalo Escobar, Orthopedic Surgeon
