Should I Have A Second Surgery To Treat Pain In Knee?

Is there a healthcare advocate that could go to the doctor with me to ask questions about my complex medical problems? I have had a total knee replacement, infection with removal of same and redo of the total knee. I still am in pain and can hardly walk. I use a walker and can manage to get around with great difficulty. I am afraid I may wind up worse. My surgeon thinks I should have another surgery. I have the blood clot gene and diabetes. I will need an umbrella placed before I have the knee surgery to avoid blood clots. I am writing for friend who does not have a computer. She is a female 73 years old.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
It depends on the cause of pain in the knee. If it is due to malalignment, fibrosis or a knee instability then a repeat surgery may be required to correct the deformity.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
