Should I Immediately Have The Surgery For The Metatarsal Separation Of Bone Fragments And Suggest The Best Surgeon?

I fractured my 5th metatarsal w/ separation Aug 6 2013. My problem is shoes, they all cut into my high instep. I also have a bulging vein near the metatarsal. Lots of pain Doc sent me for a cat scan it showed non union with bone fragments. Should i have the surgery immediately on could I put it off till July? I would like to find a surgeon who has done many I rather not be his first.
