Should I Stop Taking Dianette After Having Symptoms Like Headache And Nausea?

I have been on dianette for 3 days and have bad headaches and nausea. It says on leaflet that you should stop immediately if you get this. But I don t want to stop it - just started it and I thought symptoms could get better after being on pill for a while.

Hi,

Headache and nausea occurs due to the hormonal changes caused by the contraceptive pills. These side effects reduce in many patients as the days progress since the body adjusts to the hormone levels.

In case the headache is very severe or you have a history of migraine or hypertension, it is better to avoid using the drug. You can switch over to other hormonal contraceptives for preventing the side effects. Use another contraceptive method for first 7 days after switching to a new drug.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
