Should I Take Antacids To Prevent Vomiting Caused By Meloxicam?

I m taking Meloxicam for a back nerve flare-up (Sciatica) for the past 5 days. It s making me nauseous. I vomited yesterday and it was dark brown. I ve eaten lunch but am still nauseous. I ve decided not to continue taking this medication. Is there anything I can do to alleviate the nausea today? Tums, Alka-seltzer, Zantac, Prilosec? Or should I just tough it out and hope I don t vomit again

Hi
Thanks for the query to Health Care Magic.
Meloxicam is a potent pain reliever and also causes gastritis in few cases ( as nausea in your case ).
In such cases you are advised to take proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole+domperidon .
In your case take one tablet and you will be alright .
Hope you will feel better.
Good luck.
