Should I Take Insulin For Type 2 Diabetes?

my wife has recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. her sugar readings have been below 100 the last several mornings. I keep lower the insulin. she is on steroids for cancer treatment. maybe she doesn't really need insulin? she is also taking metformin and glimerpiride. Perhaps, too much medication and insulin?

hi
i think you should be careful with her sugar status
the reason being that steroids are known to raise the sugars

Now she is on tablets and insulin too
So she might go into hypoglycemia
and that should be avoided in her case

however i dont think only fasting blood sugar should be targeted before reducing the dose. you need to consider the other sugars like pre lunch and pre dinner sugars also.
if they are also ok, then you can definitely meet your physician about reducing the medicine.

Best of luck
