Should I Worry About A Black Painless Mole On Skin?

I have a black mole which looks like a mushroom, it's about 2 cm in diameter but not touching the skin, linked to my skin by a narrow skin link. It doesn't hurt or anything but annoying to look at and feel it. Is it something to worry about and how best to remove it?

Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of a pedunculated skin tag.

It is a benign growth. You can get it removed for cosmetic reasons. Sometimes it can get caught in clothing or chain(if present on neck) or rub against legs(if between thighs) and can thus cause pain and bleeding.

It is best removed by a dermatologist either by using a CO2 laser or Radiofrequency cautery under Local anesthesia.

take care
regards
