Should A 90 Year Old Man In Good Health Have A Stress Test?

Should a 90 year old man in good health have a stress test?

My Father is 90 has a pacemaker and has had a lung removed to cancer and hip replacement in the last 3 years. Otherwise he is in good health. Should he have a stress test if there are no health problems?

Hi,
Cardiac evaluation is necessary in the elderly to rule out any ongoing or possible future problems.
Stress test is easy one, which will show the ECG changes, when the heart is a but pumped up.
If there is any change, it could indicate a partial block and depending on the ECG changes further evaluation with echo or angiogram might be necessary.
Test can be taken and future decisions can be thought of.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
