Should A Duration Of 12 To 24 Hours Be Given For The Acetaminophen Dosages?

sure, my daughter who is 17 1/2 was given vicodin 5/325 yesterday for a bunionectomy. She has been taking it fairly regularly for pain . the rx is for her to take 1-2 tabs every four hours as need for pain but not to exceed the 4000mg of acetaminophen in the 24 hour period. We have kept very close track of this and I am giving it to her so she does not have the bottle herself as I don t want her to be groggy and take too much. MY concern is that the rx only says to not exceed the 4000mg of acetaminophen so we figured this out and she should not have more than 12 in a 24 hour time frame... she has taken one at a time and staggered it but with the fresh post op pain, she has more frequently needed the two. I am a bit worried as I waslooking online and it said with this strength not to exceed 6 in 24 hours.... she has had 10 in the last 20 hoursd
