Should A Tetanus Shot Be Taken After Being Poked By A Barbed Wire?

My 4 year old son was poked in the head with barb wire today. I didn't see anything at first but a few hours later I noticed that there was a little patch of blood in his hair so when we got home I put peroxide on it and cleaned it up. My question is do i need take him in to get a tetanus shot?
