Should Bruise And Swelling Of Shin After Injury Be A Cause Of Worry?

I got kicked playing soccer. No real pain during game or afterwards. Layed down on couch for five minutes then went upstairs. Suddenly it swelled very much between shin and calf. It doesn't hurt very badly, is a little bruised and I went downstairs for an ice bag.

Hi there.
It was right of you to immediately apply ice on the injured area.
Yes, injuries of such sort can be of concern if you neglect them as do most of the youngsters.
Get an Xray of the injured part done.
Keep applying ice pack 3 to 4 times daily for a day or two.
Take complete bed rest along with pain killers like tab. Nac plus three times daily.
Get the Xray evaluated by an orthopaedician. I think this should suffice.
Good luck.
