Should I Be Concerned About The Periodic Tightness In Abdomen?
I had emergency surgery one year ago to repair ruptured artery on my liver. Since then I experience periodic tightness in my upper right abdomen. There is no tenderness to the touch except directly on the ribcage. I also have fibromyalgia. My most recent CT scan two months ago indicated that the original hematoma in the liver is healing properly. Should I be concerned?
Dear-thanks for using HCM . You had a big surgery due to ruptured arterial vessel in the liver. That can create adherence or scar tissue in the sorrounding of the surgical area. This adherence can give tightness in the abdomen. Other possibility is an increase in gas formation that produces bloating and tightness. Try to evaluate what you are eating and drinking to see if this is aggravating the gas formation. I don't think that you should be concerned because you had a normal CT scan recently. I advise you to stay pending for any changes and visit your surgeon if no improvement after diet modification. I hope that my advise has been helpful Dr.Sara
