Should I Be Worried About The Long And Stringy Bowel?
Reason for concern? I had a bm which was loose due to eating excessive amounts of watermelon, cucumbers, & other seeded/healthy foods. I noticed a long, stringy mucus like thing approx 8 inches long. Color was white with slight pinkish-red down the middle of it. Had stomachs pains/issues since delivering baby vaginally June 2013.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of long stringy mucus like thing in the BM approximately 8 inches in length, color was white with slight pinkish red down the middle of it. Have stomach pains since delivering baby vaginally. You are taking more of watermelon and cucumbers. This is not normal and is of some concern. You should have sent that piece to the lab as this can be a tape worm and you have a long history of pain in abdomen. I would advise you the following: Stool tests for 3 consecutive days. Take a course of anti-helminthic active against tapeworm under the guidance of your Doctor. Test of the treatment as per the reports of stool and other tests. Ultrasonography should help you. CT scan with contrast help a lot in identifying.
