Should I Be Worried For Not Having Periods Even After Taking Duphaston?

sir i have problem of irregular periods or missing periods my doctor recommended to take duphaston 10 mg and said that after having medicine continuously for 5 days u will be have your periods on 6thd day today is the 6th day but i have no periods i am worried what i do now?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Duphaston is progesterone tablet.
It helps in inducing withdrawal bleeding by acting on estrogen primed endometrium.
But sometimes the time taken to induce withdrawal bleeding may alter.
It may take 7 to 10 days also.
So, wait for 4 to 5 days.
Possibly by that time you will get withdrawal bleeding.
If you do not get periods even after that time, consult gynecologist once and get evaluated.
Once go for ultrasound and thyroid profile.
Then with your doctor's advice you can go for combined pills to induce withdrawal bleeding.
