Should I Consult A Doctor For Stiff Neck, Headache, Cramps, And Low BP?
yes please... my brother in law is 60 years old and all of a sudden , he got a stiff neck, very bad head ache and cramping in his feet, vomitting as well... we took his blood presure and it is reading 110/58 with a heart rate of 99... can you tell me if he should be seen by a doctor
Hello, I have gone through your query and understand your concern. There are many causes for neck stiffness and headache.
But as you said, it happens all of sudden, it may be due to Meningitis or Migraine headache and you should rule out meningitis first. In turn meningitis is associated with fever in many cases.
Any way he should see your treating doctor, he may examine him for any neurological signs pertaining to meningitis. If he suspects meningitis, he may put him on antibiotics and pain killers. If he suspects any other like brain tumor, he may refer him to neurologist or oncologist for further management.
Hope this helps. Please write back for further queries. Wishing you good health.
