Pediatrician 's  Response
Taking lactate capsule is safe but how much it serves its purpose is doubtful. Breast milk is produced in response to the demands of the baby. The more the baby sucks, more is the amount of breast milk produced. If you give external feeds, the hunger of the baby comes down and baby sucks less and breast milk comes down. Unless you try to shift back to exclusive breast feeding, this issue will remain. The adequacy of feeding would be evident from the number of times urine is passed. 5-8 times passing urine is to be considered adequate.

Instead of lactate, you may try lactogenic granules 1 sachet twice daily with a glass of milk and see if your breast milk increases but the mainstay would be elimination of external feeds.
