Should I Go For An Ultrasound To Check The Pregnancy?
I have one female child; 4 years. hpt negative. serum hcg negative. advised regestrone 5mg bd for 5 days on day 32 for withdrawal bleeding. could i be still pregnant after negative urine and blood test. feeling very much pregnant. nausea, backache, profuse vaginal discharge, emotional, stretching and bulkiness in lower abdominal region, giddiness, fatigue, etc. should i wait, get an USG at 6 weeks and then take the drug if no pregnancy ? would appreciate a quick answer.
If you suspect pregnancy, there is no urgency to take regesterone. I suggest that you wait for another 2 weeks, repeat a urine test using the first morning urine sample. If the test is still negative, pregnancy is less likely. If you are still in doubt, get an ultrasound done at that time and then you may take regesterone if the ultrasound is negative.
If the problem of irregular periods persists, then you may need to do additional test like hormonal profile to look for the cause.
