Should I Take Proctosedyl Suppositories For Discomfort In Colon?

I have recently had 27 external radiation treatments for prostate cancer ending 10 days ago. I now have discomfort in my lower colon, some blood in my stool at times. My stool is soft (not diarrhea ) and I have to go to the bathroom frequently. It does not appear to be improving. I m on vacation and have a prescription from my doctor for Proctosedyl Suppositories 1 PR TID PRN. I have not filed this because of a concern about side effects. Should I still wait awhile before taking this medicine?

Hello
You are having prostate cancer and took radiation . Now there is discomfort in lower colon and also blood in stool ( not diarrhea ). Your doctor advise you proctosedyl suppositories (hydrocortisone, heparin, esculoside ethylaminobenzoate and butaaminobenzoate , all these are harmless ingrediaents)
I want to tell you that there are very minor side effects of this proctosedyl suppositories ( like burning, itching irritation , dryness hypopigmentation skin atrophy ,if prolong use ) , but in your case since there is blood in stool and you are also having discomfort , so in my opinion use this and this will help you.
Don't think about the side effects as these are minor , while the most important thing is blood and discomfort , you will get relief.
Hope this will help you.
Good luck.
