Should The ER Be Visited For Dizziness And Blood In Urine?
Last few weeks when I bend over I get lightheaded. Tonight I had blood in my urine. I have an appointment to see my regular doctor this Friday. The blood in urine was just tonight. Should I go to ER or can this wait. I m also on high blood pressure meds but have lost 60 lbs.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
According to history provided you are having complain of blood in urine for a once and if blood in urine is consistent then you should not wait and have to consult immediately to the physician but for only one time blood in urine you can wait for your next appointment. For doing further workup in your case you have to rule out urinary tract infection by urine routine microscopic analysis test. If urine shows pus cells bacteria then we have to start antibiotic. If you are having any history of kidney or urinary tract stone then provide history regarding that.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
