Should Thyroxine Sodium 200mcg Be Continued Even After The Reduction Of TSH Level?

Hi my TSH level was 150 and doctor suggested me thyroxine sodium 200mcg.I have been taking it for last 5-6 years and now I have reduced to 150mcg by myself to avoid side effects of thyroxine sodium. My current tsh level is 7.56. Shall I still continue with 150mcg or reduce it.if I should refuse pls.tell me what should be the dose?thx.

Hello,
Good day.
Looking at your TSH level, you need to increase the dose of Thyroxine. What is your weight ? are you taking the dose daily on empty stomach?
You may increase the dose first to 175 mcg and repeat a TSH after 6 weeks. If it is still above normal, then you can go up to 200 mcg. Please be aware that, if your TSH is in normal range, the Thyroxine dose is good and that do not cause any side effects
