Shoulder Pain, Wearing Sling. Need Shoulder Replacement. Orthopedic Surgeon?
I am in desperate need of surgery for a shoulder replacement, I am my sole supporter and am presently unemployed with no family to turn to either, I cannot get work till my arm can move again also I am in such severe pain as this condition has been happening for over 3 yrs and most muscle and tendons are damaged. I wear a sling to prevent further damage, but the pain makes me nauseous, I can't even work on a computer for very long without intense discomfort. I am in Regina Sask and was told today that the surgery wait time is about 10 months...I need to work again and don't have that long, I am willing to go to any other hospital if possible. Is there an orthopedic surgeon my family doctor can refer me to in Saskatoon who is taking patients and possibly a shorter wait time?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The problem in your shoulder is severe and long standing one. You can get some pain relief by doing a hot fomentation in the area and mild pain killers till you get the surgery done. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal
