Side-effects Of Long Term Use Of Montek Ic In Children
My son 8 yrs old 122cm height weighing 23kgs continues to take montek lc kid one tablet per day inthe morning as per doctors advise If not so he shows some allergic symptoms Is there any side effects if he is going to continue like this till his teens, that means his lungs needs a support or otherwise he is allergic he was born preterm 25weeks weighing 840 gms, and he was supported by the ventilator for breathing . sir pls help us is there any sideeffects in using this montek lc kid for along term

As far as montek lc is considered. It has few side effects. These side effects due to montek lc are rarely serious.
Montek lc kid is approved for usage in children for long term of use. The common side effects would be dryness of mouth, sore throat and occasional irritability. These are often episodic and self limiting. The only definitive treatment for allergy is avoidance of allergen.
Your son case surely continue this till teen age or even further. He is going to be absolutely fine and the drug shall not give him much trouble.
Giving ventilatory support to lungs is required only in severe cases. Usually you never know when allergy comes and when it disappears.
But children with allergen often tend to recover from the problem during their teenage. Hope your son falls in this category and would be just fine
